MADE by Sydney Opera House.
Multidisciplinary foyer rethinking
MADE by the Sydney Opera House is a multidisciplinary program offered to Australian and Danish students of architecture, engineering, and design. MADE was established in honor of the Opera House’s 40th Anniversary and will run for 10 years to the 50th Anniversary in 2023. Each year, one designer, two architects, and two engineering students are handpicked to participate in the program, awarded a scholarship, and the opportunity to live and work together on a brief to renew the Opera House.

Our proposal focused on reprogramming the use of the foyers to better align with stakeholders, the architectural value of the building, Utzon’s principles, and the visitor’s experience. Read about our work here.
The program fosters cultural relationships between Denmark and Australia and supports the knowledge of Danish architect Jørn Utzon and the Utzon Design Principles.
At the end of the program, a wonderful alumnus group of 100 Australian and Danish students will continue the international and interdisciplinary links first forged by Utzon.
MADE educates the next generation of multidisciplinary designers, architects, and engineers by hosting several masterclasses with industry professionals through its program partners.
